Assalamualaikum.
All praises to Allah. and peace be upon His Messenger.
"This is who i really am.why should i change? It's better to be myself than to become a hypocrite."
Sounds familiar huh?
I've heard that sentence countless of times before.
It is usually a statement used when someone else try to advice them into becoming a better person.
But then again, when you said "this is who i really am" as an excuse for not accepting others' advices, who do you actually think you really are?do you think you were born with that undesirable attitudes?that you are destined to become a bad person?
of course not.
you're just putting such a low standard on yourself.accepting that you just cant be better than that.that god created you with undesirable attitudes somehow got embedded in your genetic.
just think about it for a second.you can put such a high standard on everything else in your life.you want a handsome/beautiful partner.you want a big house.you dream of owning a super expensive supercar.you yearn for a respectable status in society.you work yourself to death to get that 6 figure salary.
and yet you are telling the world that you're just gonna accept that 'you' who currently have that undesirable attitude towards Allah and others.
i remember seeing a friend of mine's facebook status.seems more like a doa actually.which sounds pretty much like this:
"God, give me the strength to accept the things that I can't change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to tell the difference"
I am sure many of us can relate to that facebook status.i know i can.
subhanallahi wabihamdihi subhanallahil 'azim
(Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection
by the way, i did not direct this post to anyone and am certainly does not intend to offend anyone.just a reminder to myself and anyone who found this to be useful.cheers.
