old stuff

assalamualaikum...peace to all...

it's been a while since i last went for white water rafting.because it's getting too cold to raft for a tropical guy like me.but i suddenly felt like writing about this exhilirating experience even it's already months ago.

*one of the rapid*

when u hear the sounds of water rushing, your heart will start beating faster as if your body is preparing you for what is ahead.then when u see the rapids and the falls, and the raft u were on starts to flow faster, you'll know that it is the time.U have to paddle as hard as u can, as your life depends on your paddling effort.and life of others on the raft too.

moreover, u have to synchronize your paddling with your mates on the raft or else your paddling will be pointless.then u need to guide your raft carefully avoiding sharp rocks at the rapids and other obstacles such as logs that might be in the way.

one small mistake, u'll end up falling over from the raft into the freezing cold river and even injured yourself hitting the rocks.and trust me, plunging into 8-degree-ish celsius water is no fun.shrinkage is the word.i did have my raft rolled over at a fall (a 2 metres-high fall).and we all end up plunged into the water, hitting our head onto the rock in the riverbed.luckily mankind has created a thing called safety helmet.at least we all can still have intact skull and brain afterward.

well, now, arent all these sound just like how life is?

no effort, u die-lah!

and effort too sometimes shouldnt be done alone.

also, there were a bunch of ex-alcoholic and ex-drug abuser in the rafting club.apparently, rafting helps them avoiding those 'poisons' and make them appreciate life even more.

and i should be doing the same too.

appreciate the god-given life.spend it wisely.
