in the 15th century or so...thousands of people living in the malay archipelago embraced Islam....it was the muslims traders behaviours which captivated the attention of this people to learn more about Islam....and eventually became a muslim...
in the 21st century, a recently-converted-to-islam brother (a muallaf) said : "i am grateful that God shows me Islam before He shows me muslims".
now, what does it means to be a muslim?

there’s also one from an Egyptian mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Abduh. This might not be his exact words, but you’ll get the idea…
